CREATION OF COURTS OF APPEAL OF GENERAL JURISDICTION: POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE ASPECTS
The author analyzes the results of the procedural reform of the judicial system of the Russian Federation carried out in 2019 through the creation of courts of appeal of general jurisdiction. It also provides an analysis of the prerequisites and reasons for the reform, its main stages, the competence of the new courts, as well as the positive and negative aspects of the innovations. The author comes to the conclusion that as a result of the reform, the independence of the courts of general jurisdiction was achieved and the problem of double appeal was solved.
